Whether you have a remote site requiring power, or you just choose to rely less on the utility companies, we can supply and install single or hybrid power sources. Renewable energy systems usually have higher capitol costs but often lower operating and maintenance costs as compared to conventional power generators (diesel, gas powered). Often it is familiarity that leads people to conventional generators.
How efficient are you? When you use wind and solar energy you can't be wasting electricity on incandescent light bulbs, old appliances and such. Every dollar spent on energy efficient appliances will save three to four dollars on your system cost. We can perform an energy assessment for you. If you buy a system from us we will refund the cost.
A wind and solar potential energy assessment can be performed before a project is started. Unless your site is in a good wind regime Wind power may not be economical. An anemometer with a data logger can be set up providing a detailed report on power production for many different wind turbines. Recording periods can vary from as little as a couple months to a year or more.
Siting and orientation of photovoltaic modules is critical as well. Improper placement and orientation can lead to a system not living up to its potential, and giving unsatisfactory results. Solar power is expensive but ideal when utility power is miles away. Environmentally sensitive areas are well suited to renewable energy as they offer clean power with no pollution (air or noise), minimal maintenance, and can run unattended for long periods.
Wind and solar power can work with grid-tie power as well. They will simply sell power back to the utility when you aren't using it. It's a matter of choice; it's a life style. Maybe you just want to rely less on the utility grid power, lower your monthly bills and do your bit for the environment.
